ARTIST STATEMENT
Frances is a dancer and choreographer who is interested in uncovering mysteries of lineage, history, heritage, and the blood through prose and kinesthetic research. Growing up in the Midwest, her work aims to recreate environments and habitats that resemble the world she understands. She believes in making as a radical act of revisionism and aims for her work to live in the intersection of her personal curiosities and collective cultural understanding. She uses writing as personal research for her work, to connect abstract and theoretical ideas to physicality and literality.
